In a mad frenzy of internet searching for inspiring tea cups which are both aesthetic & practical, I found the Wedgwood Queen of hearts tea cup. This is Wedgwood at it’s very best, and to my mind the essence of what the company truly represents, really beautiful, functional crockery that is a joy to use and the aesthetic of it allows the space for appreciation & a certain ceremony. It inspires, nay demands you to pause before you take that first warm sip of tea.
What’s really lovely is the range to match the cups – of course the tea pot, milk jug & sugar bowl, but what’s new also an enchanting cake stand. My vote would be for a matching sandwich plate to complete the look. A real collectors set for the future is what I’m thinking.
Another rather imaginative & interesting tea set is the Harlequin. I’m imagining a group of like minded friends getting the set & going around each other houses with their uniquely chosen cups – a sort of afternoon tea safari……
A personal favourite from this range is yellow ribbons & actually an oppotunity for Wedgwood to create another gorgeous tea set with this pattern. My final recommendation for all those looking for valentines inspiration – buy any of these cups for your sweethearts – my honest opinion is you’ll never regret it!
